Things that I learned in my astronomy lab today.
These is question part of the lab from today.
1. The balloon in this lab represents the universe as they both expand, the dots represent the galaxies within the universe, the dot marked “M” represents the Milky Way.
2. “D” moved the farthest from “M” with 20cm, “C” and “B” moved the least with 8cm for “C” and 4cm for “B”.
3. The dot the farthest away from away from “M”, in this case “D” moved the farthest from “M”, as the farthest measurement was 20cm.
4. This lab shows that as the universe expands, things get farther away from each other, so those that were close, are now far away.
5. The Universe also contains much more than galaxies, the universe is also a spiralling and rotating giant piece of matter, and has a center, where as a balloon is a round object.
