Father and Son – Plot Point Photo Compilation

Exposition – quote “He will come again to look at me before he goes…”(165 )

explanation: The son is telling the reader his father will come check in on him before he leaves to work.


Rising action – quote “you should be in your bed. A man of your age it is past one” (166 )

explanation: The father is telling his son that it is to late to be awake and should be going to bed.

Rising action – quote “son, you are living on borrowed time” (167)

explanation:Father is telling son that he hasn’t done anything so far and needs to get on with his life.

Rising action – quote “well I’m not dead” (168 )

explanation: The son is giving a cheeky remark to his father saying it doesn’t matter what he does as long as he is alive.

Rising action – quote “what’s that? under your pillow ?” (169 )

explanation: the father is very curious about what he thought he saw under his son’s pillow that he tried to hide from him.

Climax- quote “bang a dish cloth drops from my hand” (169)

explanation: A loud gun sounding bang comes from the door way by where his son was talking to someone. The father drops his dish cloth is shock and runs to his son.

Falling action- quote “blood is spilling from his nose” (169 )

explanation: the father sees that there is blood coming from his nose as he is lying on his back in the door way  with the door wide open.

Denouement- quote “my son, let me put my arms around you” (169)

explanation: In sadness the father is telling his unresponsive son that he wants to put his arms around him. Unknowing of the hole In between his nostrils.
