In this project, we had to build a mouse trap and the reason is that we have mice in the school and we are trying to catch those mice that are in the school. We needed to make the mouse trap but include electricity so we used microbes coded it and made it into a movement sensor.

DEFINE

we’re making this mouse trap because of the mouse that is in the school. the mice that are in the school are going around in the school eating the books in the library, knocking things in the school, eating the food in the kitchens, And leaving their droppings around. because those things can make the school not safe and unhealthy for the students. many disseces can be made with all of the mice that are around especially when the school has over 1000 students that come to it every day.

DREAM

we decided to make the tape out of a plastic water bottle cut in half and use the bottom. add the microbes at the bottom of the plastic bottle so it’s not in the bottle outside of it. from the inside we wanted to add food and to make a door so when the mice enter it gets traped in there but we didn’t know how to do that also we didn’t have much time so we decided to buy a sticky mat where if the mice enter it gets trapped in there also there will be food in there so the mice get attracted to there by the smell.

How did we make the trape?

We first started by cutting a water bottle in half and using the bottom half. we Brought a sticky mat to put it in there we also stuck some popcorn and cheese in there to attract the mice with the smell. we used the microbit and made it into a movement sensor we made sure that it was sensitive and that the sticky mat was sticky enough that it wouldn’t dry so, we tapped the micro bit to the bottom of the plastic bottle.

DEBRIEF

while making this project I have learned to make sure that making and designing something isn’t that easy and needs lots of planning and editing also while making it there will be lots of changes too. Also, I’m not that well at teamwork and getting along well with people but it seems that this time it worked and I was able to do well working with others.
