We are undertaking the task of observing and identifying clouds in our local skies. We are applying what we have learned in our atmosphere unit to recognize the clouds we have observed our whole lives.
Cloud #1
These clouds seem to form ripples, covering the entirety of the sky. Although it covers the sky in a blanket of clouds, it cannot be a stratus cloud due to its lumpy features. I believe this is a combination of both stratus and cumulus. Thus, making this a cumulostratus cloud.

Cloud #2
These clouds are very puffy. Their shape resembles that of cotton. Due to these distinct features, I believe this to be a cumulus cloud.

This image seems to contain multiple types of clouds. I believe there to be an altostratus cloud due to its relative height and its lack of features. It also covers the entirety of the sky further suggesting that it is a stratus cloud. The closer cloud seems to be puffy, with the distinct cotton shape of a cumulus cloud. However, it is far too wispy to satisfy the criteria of a cumulus cloud. I believe that due to its wispiness, it is a cumulocirrus cloud.

Thank you Yael. I can’t see any pictures… Also, you were to state the date and time you took the pictures and do a core competencies reflection. 🙂
