A couple Weeks ago I participated in the Take Out Kid to Work Day and I went with my dad to the sugar factory he works at as a Mechanic That repairs machines. On my trip their he Took me a tour of the factory to see how sugar is made and I also got to see him do a bit of work. Here is how sugar is made

Step 1: The sugar is loaded off the ship and put on a conveyor belt which takes the sugar to the storage room

Step 2: The sugar is then put on another conveyor belt to a place were steam is added to the sugar.

Step 3: The sugar is then put in a centrifuge and then is separated from the water.

Step 4: The sugar is put in a Boiler were it is boiled in a vacuum with water Which Crystalizes the Sugar.

Step 5: The sugar is then put in another centrifuge and is separated from the water it was boiled in

Step 6: The Sugar is then In its pure crystalized state and then is Packaged and sent to retailers.

This is a robot arm which puts bags of sugar on pallets.

To machine and modify new and old parts for machines in the Factory. To maintain machinery and pumps in the sugar factory. To weld parts and pipes.

4.What qualifications do you have for this job in the following areas:
a) training?     Industrial Training?

b) education?     Obtain Trade red seal trade tickets In the trades of Millwright Machinist and welding.
c) experience?       Ten years work experience

d) skills and attributes (personal qualities)?     Mechanical skills, to be accurate
4. What are some of the things you like about the job?   Its Versatile.
5. What are some of the things you dislike about this job?    The Shifts.

6. How do you anticipate this job changing in the next 5 years or so? Wont change at all.

b) can have free time if all the machines are working as intended

a) Some work environments can have slightly higher room temperature which can be unncomfterble
b) your hands can get sticky from all the sugar in the factory
c) some work areas are not the cleanest of state as can be.

_I don’t think Its for me as The shifts can change and can require you to be in Higher than room temperature
Work Environments.
