I chose the poem “And my Heart Soars”. It is by Chief Dan George. He was a First Nations Chief born in Vancouver. It is about nature and that we need to take care of it. All of the natural things in nature are beautiful. This poem has lots of imagery including the olfactory imagery “the fragrance of the grass“. The mood of the poem makes me feel love and spiritual about nature.
