S.S Industrial Revolution Reflection

Agriculture Industry

The industrial revolution had a huge effect on the people of Britain, but one of the most impactful factors is the agricultural industrialization. The effects of agricultural industrialization made peoples lives better and worse due to the loss of common lands, new farming techniques and enclosures.  The loss of common lands due to enclosures had a huge effect on the poorer farmers. Since they loss the common land, their animals did not have any places to graze and they couldn’t get any other resources they normally got from the common land. This resulted in the poorer farmers to migrate over to cities where they worked in factories. This was both good and bad because even though they loss their jobs as farmers, they supplied the factories with workers. Another factor is the new farming techniques and tools including the seed drill and the 4-crop rotation technique. These components greatly improved the speed and number of crops produced by farmers and some of the techniques have been improved over the years and are still being used today. These techniques helped farmers earn more money and supply more food for the new larger cities. Lastly it is the enclosures, the enclosures are a more split topic with some benefits and some negatives. To simplify, the enclosures took away the common lands which relocated the farmers previously stated, but there are some positives. The richer farmers who could afford enclosures sent their businesses through the roof. With this new-found power, they could own new breeds of animals and could work their land more profitably. In conclusion, the industrialization of the agriculture industry is one of the more important outcomes in the industrial revolution
