Darwin had the theory of evolution by natural selection however, he had little to no evidence to support the theory. Darwin had been stuck on the fact that he didn’t know how evolution worked, how one could turn into many. He had sadly passed away before the discovery of DNA, which would have backed up his theory of evolution. DNA reflects the genetic code of an organism, by using these codes we can see the similarities between different species. For example, in the movie, we saw how the fish tictalik was the transitional organism that led to all 4-legged land animals including humans. Without the discovery of DNA Darwin’s theory of evolution would’ve simply remained merely a theory and not a fact. Today if DNA had not been discovered when it was, we might not be as advanced as we are. Or if the discovery was never made, we would still be in the dark about the relationship all organisms have. In the future, we can look at crossing genes between species to try and create hybrids. Right now we are experimenting on small animals such as rats but hopefully in the future when our technology is more advanced we can look at crossing genetics between humans and different species.
