1.) Dave Conroy was in the woods because he is a trapper.
2.) The reader can tell the that Conroy will not make it to the cabin when he falls into the water and get wet. He is too stubborn to stop and make a fire. HE also should have waited until winter was over before he decide to travel.
3.) To prevent himself from freezing, Conroy should’ve changed his gloves and socks when they got wet. He also should have stopped to make a fire to keep warm.
4.) Conroy is a trapper in the cold forest. He is trying to reach Hoodoo cabin before night. He is tired and cold but he is too stubborn to stop and make a fire. He gets his feet and hands wet but trudges on. This causes his fingers to go numb and he can’t light a fire. He down to take a nap, but ends up dying.
5.) The setting in the cold forest affects the story because it causes Conroy to die. The setting plays the role of a character. The theme is “do not push your limits”.
6.)The cabin that Conroy imagines before he dies is symbolic to heaven.
