The news article I found is discussing Gender Inequality involving physical education in schools.
Here is my article:
I believe that the topic of gender inequality, specifically involving physical education, is very significant. The article I found states that “Segregation between boys and girls during PE classes can lead to gender prejudice later in life”. After reading this article, I realized how significant gender inequality issues are. These issues can effect the victims for the rest of their lives.
PE classes are one of the main places gender inequality takes place. Because boys are born with more muscle mass than girls, the two genders are often split up in PE. A lot of girls are more physically capable than boys, and vice versa. To fix gender inequality during PE classes, every activity needs to be based upon physical capability, and not on gender.
I chose this article because it directly relates to the short story “The Friday Everything Changed”. The falling action taking place in the story involves the Teacher, Miss Ralston, hitting a home run across the street while playing softball with all of the boys. This just proves how sports should be participated in by anyone who has the physical capability.
