Today in Science 9 we took samples of our cheek cells and looked at them under the microscope. We observed the cheek cells under 40x power, 100x power, and 400x power. At 40x power, the cheek cells are very tiny and you can see many of them. The nucleus is just a tiny visible dot near the center. At 100x power, the cells are a lot more focused and detailed. You can still see many cells in the field of view, and the nucleus is a visible sesame seed shape in the center of the cell. The cytoplasm was now visible under 100x power. At 400x power,  only one cheek cell at a time was able to be seen in the field of view, and it was very detailed with a clear cell membrane, cytoplasm and nucleus.
