1. What questions did you need to research in order to research your topic?

I had to research how genes effected our thoughts and morals, I needed to know this because I originally thought that the way we act growing up or as an adult was completely based on the way we were raised. I researched the difficulties of learning to speak or eat if not taught young. I read a lot about feral children and noticed similarities between them, all of them grew up recreating sounds they heard as a child.

2. What new or familiar digital tools did you try to use as you worked through this project?

I did a lot of my research through Gale, which I have not previously used.  Some of my information came from articles published by universities.

3. What was the process you used to investigate the topic?

I took key words related to my topic and researched them individually.  I would take and use information that helped me form an answer to each sub question.

4. How did you verify and cite the information you found?

All the information I used were from verified sources, (Gale articles, Harvards library.)  I would make sure the author was credible after using an article from gale.

5. How did the process of completing this challenge go? What could you have done better?

It was difficult at times. there were few keywords that actually led me to useful information, once I found a good source I could get a fair amount of useable information from it however.

  1. Your post is interestingly pertinent during this time of social distancing as you demonstrate the vital importance of human contact. You bring up in my mind something called: “the nature-nurture controversy” – what shapes who we are more powerfully? Our genes or our experiences? It is interesting that you see genes as being quite influential in our ability to make decisions and unlearning of animal tendencies to be difficult. What was the most interesting thing that you found in your research?
