Monday- Solidify your inquiry question+ Read

  1. Finish researching your author (let’s skip the creative process- we are going downtown instead :))
  2. Inquiry question. Focus your question into one that touches on some big topics in your novel.  The question must be approved by me. Write it down in your visual journal. Remember- researchable, appropriate for age and scope, no Yes and NO answer, lots of answers
    1. The Marrow Thieves– survival, family, dystopia, culture (importance, heal or restore), elders, community, land, residential school legacy
    2. Son of a Trickster– coming of age, substance abuse, intergenerational trauma, family, culture (impact, importance, healing), impact of colonization, humour
    3. Indian Horse– community, land, residential school, sport, trauma, substance abuse, healing, racism, assimiliation
    4. Dream Wheels– trauma, land, healing, family, community, sport
    5. Firekeeper’s Daughter- identity, elders, family, land, friends, healing, trauma, colonization
    6. Those Who Run Across the Sky– culture, family, community, survival, land
    7. Dreadful Water– culture, community, humour, land, racism. identity
