How might your digital footprint affect your future opportunities?
Employers will check your digital footprint online. They will search you up online and if anything inappropriate shows up or anything insulting, it could ruin your opportunity. This can also affect if you get into a university or college. Anything with your name in it will show up easily. There are lots of things that can hurt you so you need to be careful. People can be insulted and anything that goes against their mission statement on your posts and can reject you from getting a job.
Describe at least three strategies that you can use to keep your digital footprint appropriate and safe.
You need to make sure that you post only good things on your social media because even if you delete it people can still see it if they took a screenshot or if they know how to find it. You can make your social media account private to prevent people from posting bad comments and so that only certain people can see it. Don’t search up random or inappropriate things online because they can people can look into your history.
What information did you learn that you would pass on to other students?
You need to remember that everything you do online is being tracked. Also even if your location is disabled it is probably still being used. This can be fully disabled but it is usually really hard to find. You need to think before you post or you will end up regretting it later in life. Even you think it won’t affect you, it will. Online you can post a lot of things that could help you, but you need to make sure it’s all good. A comment could easily but taken as something bad even if you don’t think if it is not worded very well.
