Midterm Self Assessment and Goal-Setting

Strength and weaknesses

For the past 3 units, I have done very well having very good strengths while overcoming some weaknesses. My strength in atomic theory was being able to memorize the orbital and families very well. what I had trouble with was memorizing the specific trends like how atoms turn more In metals the farther left they are on the periodic table and the same for gases. For the bonding unit, my strength was drawing the vesper diagrams. My weakness for bonding was figuring out whether a bond was polar or non-polar because it was hard to manage all the rules to determine each and how important each was. For the mole Unit, My strength was being able to visualize different questions. I had trouble managing which numbers were sig fig and how many to give the to answer to questions since there were so many given and non-number.

I achieved my goal of being more open in group discussions by taking time to organize my thoughts, making me more confident. I carefully pick moments to share, avoiding interruptions and contributing during natural pauses in conversations. I’ve also started taking on a leadership role in the group, which helps me provide more ideas and contribute better to our team efforts. This intentional change has improved how we work together, making our group more dynamic and collaborative. It’s not just about my personal growth; it’s positively affecting how the whole group functions. I also was able to achieve this goal by building a stronger relationship with my friends when we are in the same group so that there is better environment where i can easily share my ideas
