- For my mutation, I didn’t find very many websites that talked about Missing PCSK9 so I kind of had to make do with the couple of resources that I had acess to. I would search up on GOOGLE things like , “missing PCSK9” and “high cholesterol level effects.”
- I tried a new voice recording app on my ipad since my ipad no longer has voice memos. The app I used was AudioMemos. I had to figure out how to get the recording onto my edublog because when I had voicememos, I would put it on imovie, upload it on youtube then, put the link of the youtube video on edublog. Since I used AudioMemos, I had to send an e-mail of the recording to myself from my ipad, go onto my computer and save the recording into my files onto my computer in order to upload it onto edublog.
- I researched a lot about missing PCSK9. I finally found out the process of what the PCSK9 does to the body and the what it does when it is missing. Since I found it quite confusing, I copied it onto a work document and reworded it so that I had a more simple defenition of what Missing PCSK9 is.
- I used a couple of websites and all of the sites had similer information: https://blog.23andme.com/health-traits/genetic-research-could-lead-to-new-cholesterol-drugs/, https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/PCSK9, http://www.emedicinehealth.com/high_cholesterol/article_em.htm
- Overall, I think I did pretty well although I may have chosen a more common mutation as there wasn’t too much information on the mutation that I chose (missing PCSK9.)
