Math 10 – week 1

For this week in math I learned how to find out the number of possible factors of a number. For example, if you want to find the numbers of factors in 12.

step 1: break down the number using prime factorization.

step 2: use the exponents rule

Step 3: Add 1 to each exponent, *REMEBER every coefficient has an invisible exponent to the power of 1

Step 4: Multiply the exponents

After you have multiplied the exponents you will have your answer.

This method also works if you don’t know the total number.
