We have learned many things that are connected through interconnectedness in science 9. Family, regions, plants and cycles are all connected through interconnectedness. This relates to what we have learned about cycles. Each cycle is is interconnected in some way. Cycles such as the water cycles is very important to our ecosystem and if one component in the cycle is gone or damaged in one way or another It will effect the whole cycle. Another example is food chains. How it starts with the producers, then the tertiary consumers, then decomposers. If one level of the food chain is gone, the whole chain is gone. Every level of the food chain is equally as important and all levels need to connect to one another. When we learn about interconnectedness we are able to recognize if we are doing something that effects these chains and cycles and what we can do to help or fix the problems.
Sustainability is how we can sustain and keep our environment healthy and happy. It is to keep a good balance between multiple things at once. In this class we have learned how much we effect the environment by amount of energy and water we use, all the fossil fuels we let burn and all the pollution we let out into the air. We have to find a better use of energy whether it is solar energy or hybrid energy. We also learned how we can help the environment by recycling and composting or taking the bus, using cold water to shower or even taking shorter showers. By learning about how much peoples effect the planet we can now try to improve in the ways we treat our planet so it is sustainable.
