Define: I wanted to find a way to learn the periodic table. I wanted to find a way to have the periodic table within in easy access, that tells me everything I need to know about the periodic table, but in a fun way.
Dream: if I was able to remember the periodic table with this app it would really help me. It would save a lot of time if I ever needed to write down any formulas. If I was able to have a periodic table in easy access without having to search one up on the internet it would save a lot of time. Finding an app that would help teach me the periodic table in a visual way would really help. An app that tells me everything I need to know about each element.
Deliver: the app I have chosen is called Elements. This app allowed me to name each elements symbol and show me a symbol thatI would have to name by multiple choice. I also had a list of all the elements in alphabetic order with each group it belongs to, its state, the atomic weight, when it was discovered and wether it belongs to rows or column. I can also choose between easy or hard, easy would give a multiple choice you start with 20 seconds and with every correct answer you get an additional 3 seconds and with every wrong answer you loose 3 seconds. The game stops when you run out of time. Points are kept track of, when you get an answer wrong it does not skip to the next element, it stays on that element until you get the answer right. Like every other app there are pros and there are cons. Some pros being. That you can learn the symbols of the elements in a fun way, you also have some form of periodic table with lots of information in easy access. Some cons are it isn’t easy to go through all the elements because it would take a lot of time.
Debrief: the app Elements would be beneficial for some peoples. For me this app did not help me improve. When I didn’t know the answer I found that I wouldn’t stop and think, I would just click random symbols until I got it right. And having the periodic table alphabetized ended up confusing me more then helping me. I do not think this app is worth keeping.
Dear, Donald Trump
I’ve heard you have beed saying you would like to withdraw the United States from a landmark global climate agreement. But if the U.S. withdraws from the Paris climate deal. In my opinion I do not agree with the U.S. being withdrawn. If the U.S. is withdrawn from the Paris climate deal it will cause ripples around the world. I agree with the 40 Democratic senators who sent you lettres saying withdrawal with hurt America’s credibility and influence on the world stage. Even though leaving the deal would fulfil your central campaign pledge, it will anger international allies who have spent years in difficult negotiations that produced an accord to reduce carbon emissions. We need to make the world a better environment. And to do that we need to change the way we live oh find the causes to climate change and figure out what need to do to stop it. We need to use more solar energy and hydro energy. If you withdraw the United States from the Paris agreement people will think that you don’t care about the environment. I hope you take into consideration of what will happen if you make your decision and help make the world great again. Thank you.
Sincerely, Shayla
We have learned many things that are connected through interconnectedness in science 9. Family, regions, plants and cycles are all connected through interconnectedness. This relates to what we have learned about cycles. Each cycle is is interconnected in some way. Cycles such as the water cycles is very important to our ecosystem and if one component in the cycle is gone or damaged in one way or another It will effect the whole cycle. Another example is food chains. How it starts with the producers, then the tertiary consumers, then decomposers. If one level of the food chain is gone, the whole chain is gone. Every level of the food chain is equally as important and all levels need to connect to one another. When we learn about interconnectedness we are able to recognize if we are doing something that effects these chains and cycles and what we can do to help or fix the problems.
Sustainability is how we can sustain and keep our environment healthy and happy. It is to keep a good balance between multiple things at once. In this class we have learned how much we effect the environment by amount of energy and water we use, all the fossil fuels we let burn and all the pollution we let out into the air. We have to find a better use of energy whether it is solar energy or hybrid energy. We also learned how we can help the environment by recycling and composting or taking the bus, using cold water to shower or even taking shorter showers. By learning about how much peoples effect the planet we can now try to improve in the ways we treat our planet so it is sustainable.

My goal was to take the bus to and from dance 4 times.Yes I achieved my goal. I took the bus to dance 5 times and took the bus from dance 4 times. The most challenging part of achieving my goal was making sure I got to the bus stop on time. If I missed the bus I would be late for dance. Next time I would keep track of time better so I wouldn’t miss my bus. There was one day that I was late for dance because I wasn’t aware of what time it was and missed my bus. I wont continue my goal. Because, it was really hard to stay on track. I won’t take the bus to dance as many times as my goal, but I will take the bus more often so maybe once or twice a week or even carpool sometimes.
Part 1: Cancer Story
Hi, I am cell living in the bone marrow of George, and today I’m going to tell you his story. George suffers from abnormal production of blood cells, generally leukocyte which are white blood cells. Leukaemia is caused be mutations in the CEBPA gene that is passed down within families and are present throughout George’s life in every cells in his body, but the exact way I was formed is unknown. George is in pain and is experiencing excessive sweating, pale skin, tiredness, weight loss, fever, breathlessness, frequent infections and nosebleeds. Even though I am unsure of how I got here I do know my purpose, to kill George. I am sorry George its my job.
George has started his treatment for his cancer. He started Chemotherapy, which is a drug taken to kill any cancer cells without damaging too many other good cells in the body. A stem cell transplant is rarely done but George needed it. A stem cell transplant is replacing George’s blood forming cells with new stem cells that make healthy blood cells. Radiation has also been attempted, which treats cancer by using high energy waves to kill cancer cells. These treatments have resulted in George losing weight and losing his hair. He also had a few surgeries but nothing seemed to get rid of his cancer. Right now all George does is sit in a hospital knowing that he only has little time left to live, which means my work here is almost done. As the days went on George was in more and more pain and there was no more treatments for him to undergo. He was told he only had a weeks time to live but passed away in a couple of days. My work here is done, of to my next victim…
Questions:
1. What questions did you need to research in order to create your cancer story?
What is leukaemia?, Where is it found in the body?, What causes it?, What effects does it have on the body?, Is there a cure? Is it rare?
2. What new or familiar digital tools did you try to use as you worked through this project?
I used google and easy bib. Easy was new for me, and I will definitely use it again to cite my work.
3. What was the process you used to investigate the topic?
I wanted to learn more about this type of cancer and what its causes, symptoms and effects. I went deeper into my investigation on this type of cancer by asking family members and did some research. Then based the information I found to help me write my story.
4. How did you verify and cite the information you found?
I verified the information I found by looking at multiple cites to make sure it was true and each cite had the same or similar information. I cited my sources by copying and pasting the website names and then making a bibliography.
5. How did the process of completing this challenge go? What could you don’t better?
The process of this assignment went very well. I wanted to make sure I understood my topic to make sure I knew what I was talking about. I think I could have researched more about how the cancer forms and more causes. Overall I think I did well on this story and I could have added a bit more detail.
