The ad uses many strategies to try and attract people to buy products from their companies. Here they have Lady Gaga who is a celebrity, companies like this one use celebrities to bring more attention to the products their selling. I these pictures we can see what this company did to make her picture become more “appealing”. They have changed her picture quite a bit to make her appearance more perfect and making her skin lighter more glowy, and more youthful and there is no discoloration in her face.  They are presenting an unrealistic person who looks flawless and fake. I feel like everyone is effected by the ads we see, either it’s a clothing ad or makeup ad we all see these and wish that we were that perfect.

Now and Then

Reflection:

I have chosen to interview my grandma whose teenage years were during 1958-1969. Similarities between adolescences now and then include sports, friends, and love life’s. Though the technology between our decades are extremely different we still had the same goals for achieving good grades in school, having nice clothes and friends. Our differences include the access to technology. These days its extremely common to come around technology and are expected to use it for our education while they used simply a paper and pencil. In the 60’s my grandma explained how her parents were more strict and tough on her, she wasn’t always allowed to leave the house until all chores and homework were complete, while for us our parents are more laid back and carefree. We have the privilege to have access to technology whenever we want, it allows us to connect with people and encourage our education. I believe that both the adolescences now and then are expected the same greatness, for school, career and chores. I would prefer to live in the same decade because I think I would be bored without technology and wouldn’t want to get paid as little for the amount of hours they worked.
