I have chosen a fad diet that consist of replacing 2 meals for 7 jars of baby food each day. The baby food diet became popular when Jennifer Aniston’s celebrity trainer Tracy Anderson rumoured that Jennifer used this diet for cutting calories and controlling portions; “’I wanted something where you can eliminate toxicity and break bad habits but still have your digestive system going” (Chris MailOnline -So Is the Baby Food Diet Jennifer Aniston’s Secret To Staying in Such Good Shape?) Baby Food is made mostly of vegetables, fruits, and gravy, so nutritionally there isn’t any harmful ingredients. The food has little to none sugar, salt, and fat. The baby food is missing most nutrients we need as adults such as, fibre, protein, and fat; “A balance of fiber, protein, fat, and carbohydrates is essential to keeping your body running at optimal levels” (Why Adults Shouldn’t Eat Baby Food ) It’s also very low in calorie intake so it doesn’t meet the minimum amount per day. Though this diet is not feasible; the diet doesn’t have anything unhealthy or harmful to it, but it’s nutritionally inadequate for adults. The diet helps controls your portions but over a matter of time one will outgrow this boring and tasteless diet and began to gain weight once again. There are no long-term benefits for the baby food diet but, it may help you lose weight for a short term time. Some negative factors that may come in to play is that the cost of baby food is quite expensive, especially eating 7 jars a day it adds up. The taste of baby food is also not appealing, there’s not much flavour and it’s very plain. It’s a short term diet that you will get bored of quickly.
