Paragraph 1:

The genre of the book “The Marrow Thieves” by Cherie Dimaline is fiction. The sub-genres are science fiction, realistic fiction and futuristic fiction. “The Marrow Thieves” is a story that mostly takes place in Canada’s wilderness. In this novel, the non-Indigenous people have lost their ability to dream. The recruiters hunt down the bone marrow of Indigenous people to regain the ability of dreaming. The group of Indigenous people have to survive and protect their dreams and identity. This main idea of the novel shows all three sub-genres. It is a pretty realistic idea that may actually happen in the future. It also shows science fiction by the recruiters who harvest the bone marrow of Indigenous people.

 

Paragraph 2:

“The Marrow Thieves” by Cherie Dimaline is mostly science fiction. Our group decided that we would turn this novel into a somewhat horror/comedy trailer. We will do this by taking the funny parts of the book and putting them into the trailer without spoiling the ending. We’ve taken serious parts of the book and turned them into something either funny or awkward. For the horror part of this trailer we will mostly execute this by using music and certain camera angles. Our group sort of wanted to base our trailer of the “The Babysitter”, which is a horror comedy, but in the end it turned out very different in a good way.
