In this lab we saw how different compounds would react with the flame of the bunsen burner. The multiple compounds would change the colour of the flame and each of them have a unque colour.
Why does each compound produce it own unique colour?
The reason why each compound produces there own unique colour is becasue, each compound will release various amounts of energy. The amount of energy that is released will determine the colour or the wavelength of the amount of light that is emitted. the reactions occurs when high energy leveled electrons jump down to a lower energy level creating wavelengths which would create the different colours.
