Scientific Scenario

My Scientific Scenario: Soccer team’s soccer shoes

In Riverside Soccer team, students always play soccer after school. All students can’t kick the ball far away. On average, they kick the ball 35m away. So coach brings special soccer shoes, and coach makes group A and group B. Group A wear special soccer shoes. Group B wear their ordinary soccer shoes. On average, group A students kick the ball 50m away, and group B students kick the ball 40m far away.

  1. What was the problem the coach wanted to investigate?

Students can’t kick the ball far away.

  1. What it the independent variable?

Special soccer shoes

  1. What it the dependent variable?

How far can the students kick the ball

  1. What do you think coach’s conclusion should be?

Special soccer shoes increase kick skill.

  1. How could coach improve his experimental design?

Strength of students, food, condition, kick skill, ground condition.
