Haan is the best Korean BBQ restaurant in Coquitlam. This restaurant is luxurious, but it is small. When I enter the restaurant, I can smell BBQ, Korean soup, and kimchi. It makes me want to eat. Its taste is similar to the restaurants in Korea. The meat is juicy and Kimchi is fresh. I will not get tired of eating this everyday. The atmosphere is calm when there are not many people, but it can be lively when there are many people. The customers are very diverse, so I can hear many different languages. Also, there is the sizzling sound of meat on the grill. When I am in Haan, I feel like I am in Korea at that time, and I feel comfortable, because it reminds me of home. In Korea, sharing food is a big part of the culture and I can experience it in Haan. When I go Haan, it reminds me of the times I ate with my family. The chair is hard wood, so we use cushions when we sit down. The walls are made of wood and bricks which adds to the luxurious feel. In this restaurant, we have to grill the meat ourselves. While grilling the meat, oil splatters on my arms and I can feel the heat of the stove. Also, inside the restaurant, it is very hot while cooking the meat, because there no air conditioner. This restaurant is usually busy, so waiters don’t come to check the customers at their tables. However, the side dishes are free. Haan’s prices are on the expensive side but it is worth it because it is delicious. Haan is my favorite restaurant in Vancouver. I want to recommend this restaurant to my classmates.
