Social Studies 10 Reflection

In this term, we learned more about WWI. We could understand easily by using cartoon that is about WWI. The cartoon shows how the war happened and development of war. Also, we could know alliances of countries. After that, we read some poem that is about effect of war to soldiers. I read poem: Back. My poem is about a soldier who participated in war. He killed people by using gun in the war. When he came back his country, people asked him what happen. However, he couldn’t reply. He denied what he did. The war hurts people mentally. While reading the poem, I can empathize soldier’s feeling during the war. It was really shocking. Because of war, many soldiers became alcoholic. And then, we learned Canada’s divided. English speaking Canadians supported British, but French speaking Canadians didn’t supported British. French speaking Canadians even protested as well. The war made many sacrifices of people both side. Today, we watched a video of war. It was cruel and scary. To learn about WWI was not boring to me. I think that it is the best important history of world.

Social Reflection

We learned about examples of Canadian discrimination between 1900-1914 in class last week. Asian was discriminated by Canadian. Also, black people was discriminated. To learn about discrimination is important before learning about the WWI, because each country have alliances. If A country discriminate B country, then C country will back up A country. Also D country will back up C country. It could cause the war. The WWI began 1914, because Servia nationalist killed Austria Hungary Archduke Ferdinand. Canada was British’s colony, so Canada had to participate automatically if British participate into the war. As Canada participated into the war, Canada developed quite a bit. Discrimination part was hard to understand for me, because I have never heard about that. However, the WWI part was not hard to understand for me. I have heard about WWI in Korea and last year.

Social Studies 10 Reflection

In this term, we learned population distribution, climate change, and waste. In population distribution, I was surprised that only 20% of the earth is a place where people can live. The population distribution is not hard to understand. The climate change is the most interested part in this term. Also it is easy to understand, because it is a big problem all over the world, so I already knew about the climate change. When I learned about waste, I realized that the seriousness of waste in daily life. Also, I was not boring to learn about waste. These topics are very big issues nowadays. I have ever heard about these topics, so it is not difficult to understand for me.

Social Study 10 Journal

I struggled with Left Wing vs Right Wing at first time, but I could understand by heard again and again. Next part is political ideologies. I knew little bit about political ideologies but it was difficult to learn for English, because I had many unknown words. In Canadian lobby, petition, and civil disobedience are also hard to me, because I didn’t understand precisely meaning of them. Electoral system is difficult to me, because of many unknown words.
