I feel that my communication has really grown over the past few months. I have never been someone who was comfortable asking for help from a teacher, and I have always felt that I should be able to work things out on my own. However, not getting direct face to face lessons and not working through questions with my peers has certainly forced me to be more open to asking questions in general (for all of my classes). And I think that I have certainly developed on my auditory comprehension. I have always been more of a visual learner, however learning online and from home has forced me to be more comfortable learning and listening instead of simply observing like I would normally. I feel that the past few months have certainly helped prepare me for the more lecture-style classes that come with university and have helped me develop my communication and listening skills as well.
I also feel that my personal awareness and responsibility has grown over the past few months. Working from home has forced me to take charge over my own understanding and “pencil in” my own hours for studying and making sure I understand the content. Normally I can rely on having in class time to study and work on assignments and so I was forced to work during those periods, but working from home really forced me to step up and take responsibility over my own learning and how much time I have put in and I think it has certainly helped me grow as a learner and a student.
