THE ACT FOUNDATION – COMPRESSIONS ONLY CPR 

 

Welcome to the Riverside PHE Department ACT CPR Program. In this unit, you will learn valuable information that you may need to use to save a life in the future. Within the unit, you will have an opportunity to learn risk factors of heart disease and stroke, how to recognize cardiovascular emergencies, & will complete practical work to prepare yourselves for the possibility of real-life emergencies. At the end of the course, students who have achieved 70%+ on the written test and practical will receive a certificate of completion.

CPR Video Assignment: ACT SCENARIOS (You may also opt to complete the scenario live and in-person with your teacher)

Use remainder of today’s time to study for quiz (tomorrow), prepare for in-person practical (tomorrow), or film for your scenario.

 

DAY 4: WRITTEN TEST & PRACTICAL EVALUATION

First half of class: In-Person Practical Evaluations/Filming/Studying

Second half of class: Written Test

Scenario Creation

Task

You will create a scenario using one of the topics below. During your scenario you must video all of your actions and decisions. After you have filmed yourselves, you must watch yourselves, and evaluate how closely you followed through with ACT protocol. Your task is to create and publish your final ACT scenario video on your blog, and complete a Core Competency reflection.

Steps

Step 1: Film your scenario, review your scenario, and make necessary changes

Step 2: Film your final scenario, upload your scenario to a video hosting website

Step 3: Create a new post for your blog, follow the instructions exactly
a) Title – ACT 9
b) Embed your scenario video into your post (copy and paste the URL from YouTube into your post)
c) Category – PE 9 or PE 10 AND Self-Assessment
d) Tag – CuccioneACTPE9B, this must be exact (please adjust the teacher, block and class, e.g PE9B, e.g NeufeldACTPE9C) AND the Core Competency # you will be using
e) Click Publish
