Math 10 – Week 9

Something I learned this week was how to determine the rule for patterns in linear relations. The pattern 3, 5, 7, 9 could be found by first looking at how much is added or subtracted from each number. In this example, there is 2 being added each time it goes up meaning that what we put first will be . For our next step, what we do next is see how much we need to add or take away from the number after multiplying with its coefficient. In this example, 3 minus 1 would get you back to 2, so what we put next is -1. The rule for this patter is .
