The person I interviewed is Richard Chan, he is the head pharmacist at Save on Foods. I chose a pharmacist to interview because I consider that as a potentional employment for the future, and I wanted to learn more about it. Something I learned from this interview is that not only hard work is important, gaining a strong relationship with your patient can set you aside from others. Being genuine and having empathy is key. The opportunites that this interview opened up to me is being more likely to get something or be a better person.

1.Why are you passionate about your job.

Able to help people in felling very rewarding, make difference one step at a time.

2. What advice would you pass on to someone interested in what you are dong?

Need to have genuin care about your patients, they are human, not just a customer. Empathy!

3. What obstacles have you faced to get where are today?

English skills, communication skills.

4. Would you open to further contact from riverside students and if so, how can someone contact you?

Need head office approval.

5.Do you fint it stressful being a pharmacist? Are you always underpressure? Have you ever messed up a patients precise presicription?

Can be stressful sometimes but not always under pressure. That’s why we went through four years of school. To catch mistakes!

6. Is it important to have strong communication skills.

.Yes definetly!It makes a big difference in terms of patient care. It can help form a patient relationship with health professional that will be very valuable.Common sense and logic and empathy also plays a huge as well.
