Digital Footprint

1.)How might your digital footprint affect your future opportunities? Give at least two examples.

When you’re choosing university in the future, and your school finds that you’ve been post something which is inappropriate, then the school may not accept you, but if you’ve been accepted, then you will be the laughingstock of your classmate, or even kicked out by the school.
Also if your boss finds your inappropriate photo when you’re working in the future, then you won’t have a good position or even be fired. For example, if a celebrity has posted improper photos in instagram or others, then he may have a high chance of being cyber-bullied, also he won’t have as many opportunities to film movies, TV shows and advertisements.

2.)Describe at least three strategies that you can use to keep your digital footprint appropriate and safe.

If you want to keep your digital footprint appropriate and safe, firstly, you must double check your posts for inappropriate content. Secondly, set your account to private account, only accept people you know. Lastly, check your phone regularly which can prevent bad person to steal your secrecy.

3.)What information did you learn that you would pass on to other students? How would you go about telling them?

I learned that I must think carefully when I am using social media, so there won’t be anyone finding anything inappropriate in my digital footprint for the future. If I see other students post something inappropriate, I will try to remind or tell them as soon as I can.
