Photography is one of the most influential hobbies I’ve ever had, and has been a significant part of my life. I started growing an interest in photography when I was younger, around grade 6 and it has only grown overtime. But it wasn’t until grade 9 when I took an actual class to learn how to use a DSLR, the settings of a camera, but also layout and design. It has helped me learn and appreciate nature and the world around me. Everywhere I go I always look for opportunities and I have become more observant because of photography. I love going on trips anywhere from camping, road trip, or even going to another country. My favourite journey so far would have to be when I went on a road trip last year to the US west coast I travelled through Washington, Oregon, California, Nevada, Arizona, Utah and Idaho. The trip was beautiful from Disney land to the Oregon Sand Dunes and even the Grand Canyon. I try to improve what I know and am always open to learning new strategies and techniques, excited to show those around me what I have photographed
Taekwondo is a sport and experience I have grown up with for many years. Since grade 3 until now I have been training at Phoenix Taekwondo in Coquitlam. I find Taekwondo an important part of who I am because not only have I learned self defense and the skills acquired through the sport (I am wearing red), I have also learned life skills. Those life lessons have been beneficial to my growth, when I was younger I was very impatient and easily frustrated. I became more patient in the people and things around me no longer becoming frustrated always trying to think logically and relax, I became more observant about the people and things going on around me being able to adapt and react better to certain situations, and I have also become more appreciative and caring about those around me, putting them over myself sometimes. Overall Taekwondo is one of the things I am very happy I participated in from a young age and just as the other subjects on this list, contributed to the person I currently am.
Friends have come and gone but some have continued to be there for me and I am very grateful for them. Even though some have gone, every single person I considered a friend has left an impact on me either good or bad doesn’t matter but they have all had an influence on my growth. There are 3 people that I can say made the largest impact, two negative and one positive. I thought the two were my friends, but really were not, they lied and talked behind my back and only realizing after I had left them that they have always been putting me down, and now the words they spoke have stayed with me. After all that there one was one person who made that all better, she is someone who I could relate to, we trust each other, and makes everyday easier to go through knowing she is there and I could talk to her. I find that everything that happens to me is an influence on who I am, and that even though I have gone through awful things they are all important.
