Character Sketch

Dave Conroy

Dave Conroy in the story, “The Mountain Journey” was Prideful and Negligent and these two traits eventually lead to his demise. This dynamic character (he eventually died) was also stubborn and was as reckless as can be. In the beginning of the story, he admits that he should have stopped and created fire next to a tree that would protect him during the night; “That tree, like a strong and lonely woman, called to his wary body to stop.” However, his Pride kept him continuing on his journey and he was neglecting the opportunity he was given; “But two hours of daylight remained and he went on”. Like I said before his emotions got to him and that is what led him to his death.
