The Depth of a Handmaid
The writing in the Handmaid’s Tale has depth and uses metaphors to create the imagery that this story needs you to have throughout the entire book. Because the story is so darkly set, it uses these metaphors that sometimes sound more childish to make us readers have a mix of emotions that continue our interest through the writing on its own. Not only does this book’s writing keep you tied up in interest but the plot has twists that keep you wanting more. The suspense holds you on the edge of your seat just to turn your mind in the opposite direction when the truth comes out. The emphasized themes of this novel can be interpreted from person to person, allowing a connection to be made from your personal view of life. The theme surrounding the strength of feminism reflects my view on the matter and follows Atwood’s opinions on the topic which are similar to my own.
