This week I started to expand on the side of the structure. There were a few setbacks where I snapped some of the wood and had to fix it, but in the end, I got to where I needed to be.
I started doing the process and when I was halfway through finishing it, I was not loving how it was turning out, instead of my main idea, I thought it looked more like a dragonfly, and that from here, the work I did this week, I could make it a lot more visually appealing.
From here I started to wrap and hot glue different pieces of yarn around the wood, I stuck to different shades of blue and went from there in order for the project to not look too messy. I wrapped it around the wings as well so they now look less hollow and more like a unit.
After this I made a half sphere for the head and spray painted it blue to match the rest of the body. After this, I thought to add antennas, so, I grabbed three different colors of thin wire; green, light blue, and dark blue. I twisted them and folded them to create shiny colorful antennas that were obvious but did not take away from the yarn.
I left the back of the dragonfly open in order to put some light into it, most likely using the fairy lights or by putting a small light into the head, this is where I am bringing the luminary aspect into the project.
