This week I focussed on coming up with my third maquette which needed to be created from some sort of fabric material. The fabric I chose is yarn in an attempt to crochet a shape that could hold a light. I wanted to learn to crochet in general and I think it is an interesting skill to have, and possibly something interesting to include in my main project.
I started to learn how to do simple chains and was taught by a fellow classmate how to do so. After this, I carried on to attempting to make a square. The square does not entirely look like a square as I forgot to count the stitched and somehow ended up as an hourglass shape.
This was my practice either way and is not the maquette, I am now attempting to make a bowl-shaped crochet basket that I will hopefully be able to put on top of a tealight.
This is the beginning of this bowl shape:
It’ll get there hopefully 🙂
