This week I wanted to finish my clay maquette. In the beginning, I thought it was only one slab and by the end of the first day, I was finished and had it in the drying area to be fired when it was ready. The next day I found out it was not the case and that there had to be multiple slides to make a lantern.
There was no problem, I just created three more slides that matched the original and then put them together the next day and used the rest of the day to draw some ideas for my next maquette.
The next day the clay had cracked and dried out, making it impossible to fix the huge crack down the middle.
I had the restart and ended up doing a simple design of leaves and dandelions for a four side lantern, put it together, and set it to dry and be fired.
I forgot to take a picture 🙁
