How Does One Feel after suffering extreme racism?

In the poem” What do you remember about the evacuation” by Joy Kagawa, The writer Who Tries to forget the extreme racism her family was put under. She can see all the horrible things to happen to her friends and family but could not understand what was going on. When Joy was young she was absent minded of all the things going on but could still understand the fear in the eyes of parents and friends:  “I hear there were people herded into Hastings park like Cattle.” (Line 9) If one person can forgive of the mistakes  of someone’s actions you could feel better but the pain of the racism once felt will always be there.
