Collaboration Reflextion

Core Competency – Creative Thinking Skill

Throughout the entire project, I demonstrated my creative thinking capabilities by building on and combining others ideas along with my own.I constantly demonstrated an inclusive attitude by bringing together our group and brought together our ideas into our final product. I also spent a fair amount of time researching about our topic so that I had a reasonable understanding of the topic. Above all though, I was able to invite my creative mind into thinking by just letting my thoughts wander to see what sort of solutions to current problems I could come up with.

Collaboration Reflection

Our group collaborated well and we were able to get the job done. The only thing that could have gone better was the initiative of the group. Without my telling them so, they would not do anything. Because of that, most of the drive to get things done fell to me, so better initiative from the group would be a major improvement. On a whole though, the project got done and that is what matters. I personally would not work again with the same group of individuals but if it was necessary, we could devise a strategy to make it work.

Experience Debrief

  • What did you like/learn. Dislike?

I disliked the experience on a whole. I did not enjoy the way the subject was presented with such little importance when there was actually a large project coming. I also think that the core principles of the collaboration fluency and reflexion fluency are quite useless and are just relabelling basic skills everyone should have. I did, however, learn a lot about the subject I chose because of this so at least some knowledge out of it. Overall though, I did not find it very engaging or interesting.

  • What would you do differently?

I would set up two weeks or something of this straight course instead of interspersing it one day a week. It reduces greatly any value of it and ends up turning into more a waste of time than anything. I would make this a two-week course that you do, present your final findings, then return to science.

  • what advice would you give your group if you could send a message?

I would say that they should do everything earlier in order to finish with more time and use cue cards in order to make the presentation go smoother. Other than that I think we did a pretty good job.
