A new pair of shoes

This picture is a prime example of the morals that should be portrayed in our society. When compared to FEC, it uncannily relates to what happened in the story. For an example, Ms. Ralston wasn’t an enormously powerful person who forced the boys to accept the girls carrying the water bucket. She was an ordinary person who stepped up and made a statement that challenged what was normal.

When this picture talks about “small acts of kindness” it refers to things such as holding a door open for someone or letting someone go ahead while waiting in a line. Sometimes, you don’t even need to think about doing something nice for someone else. For instance, if I wanted to iron my t-shirt, simply doing a couple of your parents, brothers, or sisters is really nice. I bet you can relate to the feeling of when someone does something nice for you.

This may seem like a kind of random image to chose but the story behind it made me really happy. Three police officers were called to a disturbance because an older girl was bulling a young boy because he had worn out old shoes. The police broke it up and helped the kid home where they found out that he and his two other brothers were being raised by their single mom. The mother was working very hard and doing her best to support their family but was struggling. Wanting to help, the officers went out and bought some brand new shoes for the boy. The boy was absolutely ecstatic and wrote them a letter thanking them for the shoes and for alleviating the bulling.

In conclusion, it is simple things like that that can change life for someone. I found that story beautiful because of the fact that the police officers had no need to help but they did.
