Personal Responsibility

I feel that Atomic Theory was relatively easy as most of it was review from Science 10. I understood the logic and was able to apply critical and logical thinking to the areas where I had slight troubles with. The only part I think that I might have struggled in Atomic Theory was learning how to count valence electrons and memorizing the orbitals. Bonding just built on Atomic Theory so I didn’t have much trouble for that either except for drawing VSEPR diagrams. I feel it was slightly confusing going from Lewis to VSEPR diagrams, but I feel I was able to do well with practice and patience. Finally for the Mole unit, I feel it was relatively easy since it was just unit conversions. On the final unit test I did not get full marks, but I remember looking over it and thinking the mistakes I made were easily fixed. I wouldn’t say I struggled, and I felt solid throughout the unit.

Core Competencies + Goal Setting

Goal Reflection

I feel that I have been able to be more open minded of other people’s opinions while working collaboratively. I feel that I was able to improve in this goal by taking a step back sometimes and really try to listen. I tried to keep in mind that there is always multiple ways of tackling problems and that group projects are with multiple people because often the workload is too much for just one person. However, I still catch myself going ahead on my own and volunteering for a lot and sometimes not giving others chances. I feel this is an ongoing goal I will keep working on. I will keep working on this with a newer strategy: stand back and watch a bit at the beginning so I can pick off where someone else would have left off instead of jumping in myself.
