One challenge was placing the vinyl correctly, especially on the sleeve, and weeding small details. What worked well was the design and the heat press, which made the vinyl stick cleanly. I learned how to design, cut, and press vinyl using a Cricut, and I can use these skills to make custom shirts and future projects.
What are some things that were challenging?
Some things that were challenging for me was learning how to use the scribble, extrude, and revolve tools because they changed the shape in ways I didn’t expect. It also took time to figure out how to hollow the model without making it too thin.
What are some things that worked well?
Once I practiced, the tools started working really well. I was able to shape my Miffy the way I wanted, and the revolve tool helped make the head smooth. The slicer also worked well because it showed me what the print would look like and helped me fix any problems before printing.
What did you learn?
I learned how to use different Tinkercad tools like scribble, extrude, revolve, hollowing, and adding letters. I also learned how slicing affects the print time and how to prepare a model for the FlashForge printer. Overall, I learned how to take a simple design and turn it into something ready to print.
What personalization did you do?
For personalization, I changed my Miffy by drawing some details with the scribble tool, adding shapes with extrude, and smoothing parts with revolve. I hollowed the inside to make it print faster, and I added my initials and a small design to make it unique to me.
My inspo
In tech team I have put most of my time with helping students with their laptop issues and helping Mrs. Henderson and Mrs. Leung. I always ask other tech teacm mebmers if they have stuff to do for tech team and if they need help I help them. whenever I go to the wave section if it is full of people I try to go to the Makers space to help with other things.
For example:
I have done the Halloween Pumpkin designing competition poster for social media channels. I used Canva to make the poster and it took me 2 hours to make it
I have done the Tshirt for tech team that we had to use the CirCut to print the name and the design. At first I didn’t know how to do that but now I learned it and know how to use it. It took me 3 or 4 hours to make.
I have help to some of the students with their laptop. She couldn’t play her music and I just pressed the play button and it worked. It took me 30 seconds to do it.
Me and Sama did the pumpkin design. We used the maker space with the sticker on the face, around the face with the CirCut. We won as the first place
