summary chapter 1

Simplify evaluate powers in parentheses and brackets.

  • 1. in step one we simplify the first numbers and power of to brackets or parentheses. for example: (*2²*+3)+(*4⁶*-6)
  • 2. we (+,×,÷,-) the numbers in the prantheses or brackets. for example:(*2+3*)+(*4+7*)
  • 3. we simplify the whole prantheses or brackets powers. for example =(2⁴+4)*³*+(5⁶+6⁷)*⁸*
  • 4. we simplify the powers. *12⁶*

5. we get the answer. 49+49= 98

fossil fuel burning

A climate change is a phenomenon that known that as greenhouse effect. burning fossil is one of the important effect of climate change. because it makes our earth warmer. When fossil fuels are burned, they release large amounts of carbon dioxide, a greenhouse gas, into the air. Greenhouse gases trap heat in our atmosphere, causing global warming. If this does not happen, the cold of the earth will cause lack of food, extinction of animals, freezing of plants and lack of oxygen for milions of peaple. Fossil fuels are formed from the decomposition of buried carbon-based organisms that died millions of years ago.

Most vehicles like cars, trucks, ships, and planes use fossil fuels, and this releases greenhouse gases, including carbon dioxide. When we package and produce food, it also lets out carbon dioxide, methane, and other gases that trap heat. The carbon dioxide, which sticks around for a very long time, is a big reason behind global warming and climate change caused by human actions.

Effects of climate change

Climate change means the weather getting hotter or colder and less or more rain and snow. If we use a lot of fossil fuels, gases go into the air that cause these changes.

These changes can bring many problems. For example, temperatures can get higher, there can be less or more rain, and there can be more water in the oceans. These problems can affect the lives of sea creatures and even the land. ·Right now, climate changes are already causing harm to people and animals. If we don’t solve these problems, in the future, we might lose a lot of crops, more animals and plants could disappear, and different communities could face big problems.

Mitosis Modeling

Materials

  •   Four 12-inch pipe cleaners (2 of one colour and 2 of another)
  • Four 6-inch pipe cleaners (2 of one colour and 2 of another)
  • 48 beads
  • 3 large pieces of string (~ 1m)
  • 8 small pieces of string (~ 20cm)

Interphase

Interphase is the stage of the cell cycle in which a cell grows, duplicates its DNA, and prepares for division.

benefit of interphase is duplicates chromosomes. One of the limitation of interphase is growth issues.

Prophase

In prophase, chromosomes are in the nuclear member, also their beside centrioles.
there are 4 chromosomes in the prophase.
One of the benefits of prophase can be Chromosomes shorting and one of the limitations of prophase can be High energy combustion.

Metaphase

Chromosomes are on the middle of the shape of metaphase.

one of the benefits of metaphase is preventing cell division errors.

limitation on metaphase is possible chromosome alignment errors during cell division.

Anaphase

chromosomes are dissociated in anaphase.

anaphase distributing chromosome.

anaphase limitation is genetic instability.

Telophase

telophase is in tow part and chromosomes division in them.

telophase cleavage the cell.

telophase limitation is failure cytokinesis.

Currents from the Kitchen

Purpose

Which fruit will produce the most electric voltage?

Hypothesis

The potato will have most electric voltage when we add copper nail and wires.

Materials

1 voltmeter, 2 wires, 1 nail, 1 copper strip, 3 fruits.

Procedure

We put the copper and nail in the potato. we connected one end of one of the wires to copper strip and the other end to the voltmeter. Next wire we nailed and voltmeter.

We did that with all of the fruits.

Observations

First, we put a copper and a Nile in a potato, we connected one end of the wires to it and connected the other end to the voltmeter. volt=0.4
After the van, we did the same thing again with a red apple and its volt = 0.3
After that, I did the same thing with potatoes, with red apples, with oranges, pears, and Korean pears.
Orange volt = 0.3
Pear volt = 0.2
Korean volt pear = 0.3

Conclusion

In the end, we found out that potatoes had more voltage than other fruits, and my hypothesis was correct.

  • What is causing electrons to flow in this experiment?
  • The energy that goes to the potato is due to the change of electrons.
  • How can we modify our experiment to improve our results?
  • By changing the fruits.
  • How can I use this in my everyday life?
  • when I want a battery and I don’t have one in my house I can make one with fruits (I don’t have a voltmeter

BC Brownfield

Part 1

part 2

part 3

The critical questions I researched to answer my fundamental question?

  • What is BC brownfield?
  • How did BC brownfield help energy sources?
  • Which one of the energy sources is used the most?
  • Which one of the energy sources helps clean the air?

I used

  • Google
  • YouTube

Analyze; Before I started writing my sway, I got some information about BC brownfield from Google and YouTube, and then I wrote my sway using the information I got.

Asiss; I think I did really good on my sway.

periodic table

  • What I know well about the periodic table
  • What I still need to work on regarding the periodic table
  • What I wonder about the periodic table
  • What goals I will set to understand the periodic table better
  •  elements atomic mass atomic number symbol and name is in the periodic table.
  • learning how to write elements formula.
  • I wonder periodic table is something about elements.
  • study what teacher said about periodic table.
