Community Connection

I have an interview with Sinisa Vukonic. Sinisa is cross skiing Olympic. He was in the Olympic games twice, and he was representing Croatia just two years after Croatia was formed as an independent country. Today Sinisa is enjoying the snow on local mountains with his son, who is also practising cross skiing. I choose to interview Sinisa because, coming from the same country, Croatia, our connection starts with that. Still, I have a love for snowboarding and basketball, and it is always inspiring to talk with a person who achieves results with hard work and passion for the sport. Olympic games are a dream form every passionate sportiest. Through this short interview, I have learned that achieving results needs courage, hard work, and sacrifice a lot and that our dreams are possible to achieve.

1.Why are you passionate about your job or role?
I was so passionate about the role I tuck part in because I felt I could do something very important for myself and society.

2.What obstacles have you faced to get you where you are today?
As an athlete or a human being, you have to face so many obstacles on your way to achieve what you want. My biggest challenge was at my time to manage how to train enough to compete at the highest level and satisfy my superiors.

3. What advice would you pass on to someone interested in what you are doing?
My advice to the kids is: Follow your passion…

5. How hard was it to keep your motivation at a challenging level?
It was very easy to keep the motivation by the time you realize that there’s no easy way to go to the next level of competition.

6. How many hours daily did you train while prepping for the Olympics?
It is tough to calculate how many hours I spent to archived my goal or to compete in the Olympics. I would say a lot, but not enough. Thank you for having an interest in my experience in the sport Noa.
