I believe we should abolish the Senate because they are not elected, but the governor general selects them. We live in a democratic society and if the Senate is given the power to check the legislation passed by the House of Commons, it should be done by people that were chosen by the country, rather than by just one person. A Senate member may hold their position until they are 75 years old. Many people of that age have views that are outdated, and generally speaking are not as open to change or new ideas as a younger person might be.

This cartoon is meant to represent the fact that most the Senate is made up of older white men. They all look and dress the same to represent the fact the thought that all the Senate members think and act in the same way.
