HCE9 visual assignment

“Birds on a Wire,” created by Banksy

When I first look at this image the first thing, I notice is the separation between the tropical bird and the pigeons holding up signs of protest clearly against immigration making this image about race. When the artist decided to create this piece, he chose to separate the birds even more by colour representation into two ethnic groups. While I was analyzing the picture, I noticed the colour of the wall makes an effect that makes the birds pop out and the powerline between the birds is faded out representing separation again. The perspective of the picture was so you could see both sides you are in a third-person perspective. you can see the pigeons’ faces in the light having an easy-going life then you see the tropical birds’ faces within a shadow creating the effect that its life is a lot harder and tediousLet us consider the background again being smooth behind the pigeons and rough for the tropical bird this might represent how the pigeons have a well-paced and smooth life, but the tropical bird has more challenges to face in life. The message that the artist was trying to represent was the problem of hatred between races is a major problem in our modern society.
