Today my Science 9 Honours Class experimented with a substance called “OOBLECK,” or “Corn-Starch And Water.”  It is a non-Newtonian fluid, meaning that it has properties of both liquids and solids.  When you let it sit, it is a solid, but when you apply pressure to it, it turns into a solid.  That means that if you grab a handful, let it become liquid in your palm, then squeeze it to make it ooze out, it won’t work because it would have already turned into a solid.  I tried making a cube with the “OOBLECK” but it didn’t work because when I tried molding it, it became a solid, but when I finally managed to make it, it quickly collapsed back into a liquid.  I wonder what would happen if you put it on top a subwoofer and played some low frequency sounds at a really high volume?
