Steps I have taken to create this project;
Define
What is the challenge that you have been given?
Currently in Tanzania, electricity is not something that is available in every household. In cities, there is somewhat light during the day, but in the night everything goes dark, due to the in-affordability. In rural areas there are sometimes almost nothing to help them see in the night, so they do at times take drastic measures, such as using kerosene lamps, which may put those people at health risks.
Dream
What innovative ideas do you have about this problem that could help solve it?
Somehow lowering the price of electricity may help, as one house could have electricity to help keep the refrigerators and overhead lights work, but another can have no such thing. Affordability, consistency is needed. Coming up with small things, such as strong LED light bulbs that Off-Grid Electric supplies is a great way to stop people from taking those drastic measures. Solar power is well-used, but I don’t believe is sufficient enough. So the smaller, more convenient an item is, that might help in making people happier.
Deliver
How will you package and publish your project?
I made a booklet, or an information pamphlet of some sort that contains some quick info about Tanzania’s electrical system and what are some things being done to help. I used images as well to help better visualize and educate the reader.
Debrief
How did the process go?
I have to admit, the process was a bit rushed due to final exams and whatnot, but I did come up with a final version of the project and I was pleased with how it turned out.
I am so proud of you for creating this document. You have gone a long way to helping Saul with his vision!
