During the course of this semester, I have had the pleasure to come in contact with someone who lives halfway across the world; and to understand a bit more how it is like to live somewhere that has a completely different atmosphere and environment.
This is Saul Paul Mwame, a Global Youth Ambassador and founder of ‘Building Africa’s Future Initiative’ who lives Dodoma, Tanzania. My class has been skyping him since September, and the end result of all the skype chats was a project titled Solution Fluency, where we assess the electrical situation in Tanzania, and while doing so, challenge ourselves to a problem that needs innovation.
I worked by myself on this project (even though it was a group project, my science teacher Mr. Robinson allowed me a bit of free space), and probably if I hadn’t done so, I would’ve never gotten in contact with Saul myself.
Although this was supposed to be more of a, “find a solution” type project, I was told it was alright if all I did was analyse the issue and give the class more info as to what’s going on. So what I did turned out to be more of a report; an educational mini magazine; like a pamphlet if you will.
The project itself? Coming soon… *To be posted tomorrow.
