Community Connection

Community Connection

Intro: (beginning info about the individual, and the role and responsibility including the interview)

For this project I had interviewed a “missionary worker” her name is Lily Mar Rich. Missionary means that an individual or a group of people and this work is involving sending of Christian believers. This work would recourse them to take long-term mission trips. To finish a mission in any place.

She works as a missionary with groups and these groups are sometimes 4 individuals in one house living together, but there is also another part for them as a missionary each one of them must partner up with somebody that would stay all the time with them no matter what. Like Lily, she has a partner that would stay with her wherever she goes or does their phones are always connecting so when I send something not only Lily, but also her partner company is doing these just to keep them safe and to look at each other; I really like their job because I feel in this job, they are able to help the community and I’m sure that at some point of my life I’m going to work some kind of a volunteer job/ role in order to build up my future or maybe I’d chose to do this job/role because I feel someone needed for help and I can help them. Another reason why I chose Lily Rich is that I find that we have a lot in common in our personality and the way we both treat others, and I think we are both social people.

My first question was: “Can you explain your role and responsibilities with your current position?”

She answered: “My roles and responsibilities with my current position are to serve and be kind to the Port Coquitlam community and bring the light of Christ into people’s lives!”

Here she talked about how she can help the community, which is the thing that I was looking for and Lily was helping them by serving them and being kind to the poco community and also talking and teaching about Christ to the people to know more about and as she said, “bring the light of Christ to people’s lives.” I think that her job is very good because she and the others only were to help the community and serve the people. I also notice that she and the others with her teach only English classes for the people that are new to the English Language and can’t speak at all. They would help them by giving them online classes, so they help people that don’t speak English to pass this hard point in their life to be able to live here in PoCo.

My second question was: “My second question was “What obstacles have you faced to get to where you are today?”

She replied: “I have faced plenty of obstacles. I was at college and didn’t know whether to go on my mission or not, and I wanted to leave in January then ended up leaving in October. I also was assigned to Japan but got sent to Canada because Japan is closed. Sometimes life doesn’t go the way you planned, but when you follow your promptings, your life will turn out better than your plan anyway.”

Even though everything went the wrong way that she wasn’t expecting that to happen she did keep on the way her life wanted her to go and didn’t lose hope and if I can know that because now, she’s in Canada she just walked in a way that her life went.

My third question was: “What advice would you pass on to someone interested in what you are doing?”

She answered: “I would say that this is the most difficult yet most rewarding thing I have ever done. It’s only 18 months, which isn’t too long to serve others and bring others to Christ!”

She said that whenever they transform her into another place, she must stay 18 months helping others and serving them. I think this is a very long time to be able to finish only one mission if you have to stay 18 months in a city in order to help others, but I think it’s a good time to be able to live for 18 months so you would learn and teach the people that you’re meeting in your life, especially Lily she is meeting lots of people in her life and I believe she has got a lot of a different kind of knowledge throughout her role.

My fourth question was: “Why are you passionate about your job or role?”

She said: “I’m passionate about my job because I know that I am helping others like Jesus would help others.”

My fifth question was: “what is an accomplishment you have done in your job or role?”

She states: “I have met so many people and got few baptized! I’ve been able to introduce people to God”

Lily meets lots of people in her life and I believe she has got a lot of knowledge throughout her role.

My final question was “Has your role or job changed anything in your life since you started it?”

She responded: “My role has changed everything about my life! I am a better person today because of my role as a missionary. My life has been changed a ton in the past 4 months. I have been more reliant on God, and I have seen myself become kinder and more focused on my purpose as a missionary. I’m in PoCo now and I will be going to Japan soon, a lot of new places to see! In the past, I relied on my own strength, and I wasn’t as hardworking as I am trying to be now.”

Outro: (last info that is lead to what I learned from the interview)

This interview opened the opportunity of considering becoming a helpful person to others and trying volunteering at some point in order to help and for self-knowledge development. I already had a passion for how I can help the growth in our community as an age development, but this is a great way to be social and have a very doing what I love to help others.

I learned that being a volunteer at some time in order to be able to serve others requires a lot of patience, hard work, perseverance, and the ability to have a fun, respectable, and social personality. I also discovered that this work involves a lot more personal connections than I would have thought among others. This relates to my interests and hobbies since I enjoy developing personal relationships with others.

One thing that I took away from this interview is and will remember in my life from this interview is Lilly said, “Sometimes life doesn’t go the way you planned, but when you follow your promptings, your life will turn out better than your plan anyway.” That stuck with me and made me consider how many chances we have to build up our future even when life takes me to a different road than I wasn’t expecting.  When you find something, you love, put all yourself into it, then you will for sure succeed in whatever you’re trying to finish no matter what. Life is full of unexpected things and sometimes it goes the opposite way that we think, but it ends up being a good thing.

Digital Footprint

 What is a Digital Footprint

  1. Everyone has an online result that creates their digital footprint. It is very easy for anybody to fid you o social media by searching your name. This digital footprint can shape your career in many ways that you won’t expected in your upcoming future and affect all your opportunities. Your digital footprint is included in every social media you created. Any picture you post or anything you type into the chat service. Even if your not being on social media like Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter your footprint still saves what is on it.
  •  A digital footprint is the things that you do on the internet and leave behind. Anything that you post on the internet can be saved forever even if you delete it that does not mean that it’s goanna forever.

2.How might your digital footprint affect your future opportunities?

  • A) The digital footprint can impact your career in the future by posting bad stuff, anyone could search up for you online and see your past like posts, comments, experience, what kind of person you are.
  • B)It also can impact your future social with other people like your friends and people around you would leave you because of what you post online or how you use online.

3.Describe at least three strategies that you can use to keep your digital footprint appropriate and safe.

  • A) do never post bad stuff on the internet/Don’t post everything you do. And think about what’s goanna happened before you post.
  • B)Be respectful to others online and use words that are speak able with others.
  • C)Use the internet to learn new things and get creative to get better and positive experience in your life and learning to develop your learning progress so you can be successful in your future and have a better life.

4. What information did you learn that you would pass on to other students? How would you go about telling them?

  • Well, based on what I learned about the digital footprint I will tell others that anything on social media Text/massages, photos, videos, likes, and comments including the deleted ones, etc. They’re all on their digital footprint so it never goes, and it can affect their future job: if you were to work somewhere for a job and they want to make sure you’re reputation is good for taking this job and your past is good then all they have to do investigated your digital footprint by searching your name and they could deiced based on what you left behind if they want to give you the job or not; it also can affect their dream, life and causes many problems.; you really have to watch out for what you do online. Sometimes it can make problems worse than you think. More like if you post something that you think is funny in your opinion and don’t think what others might think about it then it would cause your friends to leave you. Also of course everyone likes to have as many followers as the can, but sometimes we get tricked, basically what you must do is not add all the followers to your social media profile because they can be strangers, what you need to know is that before you accept anybody to think if you know who they are and see the information’s on social media.

How I’m I gonna go and tell them is when I see something on their post’s or comment I text them in person or meet them and talk to them about what I saw and what others may think about it, I will explain how it’s gonna stay forever on their digital footprint and effect their future with other’s and what other problems it may cause in their life.
